I grew up wanting to be a veterinarian, which continued to be my plan when I started college. It did alter into Fisheries and Wildlife studies for my first semester but I quickly realized that art was a passion I couldn't let go of. I started off as an art major in the Spring of 2021. For that first year, I didn't have a storyline focus and wound up working on my technical skills rather than my creative skills. In Spring 2022, when I was at an all time low, I created Ezma. She's where my art took a sharp turning point. She started off as a depressed young adult in college, who was in love with Casper, Death's daughter. The story's been through a fair amount of change over the years and the pair have been aloud to meet the diverse cast that is now Ghost Towns. Now, Ghost Towns is a story about Ezma loosing her boyfriend right before a gig their band was about to play. She winds up struggling through the story trying to figure out what exactly is going on in the fictional town of Nightingale, Washington. Along the way, she meets Casper and the two share a complex, meaningful relationship that can only end in devastation.
Ghost Towns has been my primary focus for the past few years and features several LGBTQ characters. As a part of the community, I feel that everyone's voices deserve to be heard and look for every opportunity to represent us.
Ezma is a reflection of myself and several people I've met as a college student. She's a tired, stressed, anxious woman who relies far too heavily on whatever her primary focus is at the moment.
