She has two younger sisters and has a complicated relationship with her family. She wants to create backgrounds for animated series once she graduates from art school.

When Ezma pushed back and told him they couldn’t perform without him since he was their lead singer, he blew up and told her there was more important things happening besides their band. When Ezma pushed back and told him they couldn’t perform without him since he was their lead singer, he blew up and told her there was more important things happening besides their band. To this, she asked him about their relationship, which had been rocky for the past few months. To that, he told her that they shouldn’t be together if she had doubts and left. The story starts three months after this, no one has seen him since then and he’s been marked as a missing person. Even though their last interaction was a fight, Ezma still wants to find him.
Why her?
Ezma didn’t grow up in Nightingale, she’s not used to small town life. She wants to figure out the deeper mysteries in the town, all while trying to finish up her last couple years of college. One of her roommates, Juno, has been teaching her magic on top of everything else. The power she’s been able to build has attracted another supernatural presence that starts stalking her.

Juno and Ezma met because of their other roommate, Bea. Juno and Bea have been dating for a couple years at the beginning of the story. They each have about four hair changes throughout the story. Juno is 22 years old and grew up in Nightingale, she’s been researching the strange happenings for years at this point. Her main goal is to keep Ezma away from the supernatural side of Nightingale until her magic is stronger.
Bea
Bea is Ezma’s best friend. The two met in college during their freshman year, they were randomly placed together as roommates and luckily got along well. Bea had been living in Nightingale for the past six years but wanted a chance to meet some new people at college.
Alaska
Alaska was Ezma’s high school best friend who lived in a different small town half way between Seattle and Nightingale.
Casper
Casper is the outcast local, she was adopted by a man who lost his entire family within about a year. He adopted Casper, Wes and Renya together.
Renya
Renya was originally adopted by Casper’s parents but was secondarily adopted by Sampson after their parents died.
Kat
Kat is a local tattoo artist who figured out an immortality spell ten years ago. She grew up with Sampson’s daughters and was best friend with them.
Pen
Pen is an English major who has several classes with Casper. She grew up in the same small town as Alaska and has become good friends with the two.
Kit
Kit is Alaska’s complicated roommate. We don’t see him a lot in the main storyline but he is brought up several times and does have an impact on Ezma when he comes to Nightingale for a performance MMC has.
Clove
Pen’s girlfriend and Misty’s granddaughter. She’s half werewolf and has different abilities compared to the Tenibris family.
